Ian Butler Celebrates

Butler celebrates after dismissing South Africa captain Graeme Smith, bowled for 33 runs.

The pace bowler pitched the ball up and Smith couldn't connect the ball as he attempted an on-drive only to see his middle and leg stumps shattered.

Dwayne Bravo in action

Dwayne Bravo tried to lead a counter-attack, smashing Jayasuriya for a boundary and six in the 12th over. The West Indies all-rounder dominated the 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket off 44 deliveries as he scored 35 of them, while Ramnaresh Sarwan had just 13.

Bravo brought up his half-century in style off just 38 deliveries when he slammed Malinga over midwicket for a six.

But he fell off the next delivery. Once again it was the slower delivery from Malinga that caused the damage. He tried another big shot through midwicket but failed to read the slower delivery and ended up lobbing a simple catch to mid-on.

He was dismissed for 51 off just 38 deliveries, inclusive of five boundaries and two sixes.

Lendl Simmons hits a boundary off Ajantha Mendis

Lendl Simmons hits a boundary off Ajantha Mendis.

The absence of Chris Gayle was clearly evident, as openers Simmons and Andre Fletcher failed to get going. Left-arm spinner Jayasuriya opened the bowling and gave away just three runs in his first over.

Gayle was rested for the match and wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin, who took over the captaincy, elected to field.

Dilshan races with Jayasuriya

Tillekeratne Dilshan hits Dwayne Bravo for a boundary.

Jayasuriya and Dilshan put on 124 runs for the first wicket in just 78 deliveries.

Dilshan took over once Jayasuriya departed and finished with 74 from 47 deliveries, inclusive of 11 boundaries and a six.

Jayasuriya sets up Sri Lanka win

Sanath Jayasuriya reverse sweeps Sulieman Benn for a boundary.

Sri Lanka warmed up for the Super Eights in style, outclassing the West Indies by 15 runs in an inconsequential Group C match of the ICC World Twenty20 in Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on Wednesday.

Rohit Sharma in action

Rohit Sharma paddle-scooped Alex Cusack for a four and then chipped him to a similar effect. The opening stand had yielded 77 runs when Gambhir perished at backward point in the 11th over.

An undeterred Rohit smacked Rankin over mid-wicket for a huge six to inch closer to the target and even though Mahendra Singh Dhoni's (14) was a brief stay, India's win was just a matter of formality which Rohit and Yuvraj Singh (3 not out) completed with ease.

Gautam Gambhir in action

Gautam Gambhir hit boundaries at will on his way to 37 off 31 deliveries.

India hardly broke a sweat while chasing the 113-run target off 18 overs with Gambhir and Rohit Sharma going great guns. Gambhir cut the first ball from Boyd Rankin through covers for a four to signal his intention. The left-hander came dancing down the track to hit Kevin O'Brien through covers and then upper-cut Rankin over third man for a stunning six.

Pragyan Ohja celebrates

Pragyan Ojha celebrates the dismissal of Mashrafe Mortaza. The wicket saw him finish with superb figures of four for 21 in four overs.

For his brilliant effort he was deservedly named man of the match.

Indian players celebrate the dismissal of Junaid Siddique, who became Ojha's second victim when he swept one straight to Harbhajan at the midwicket fence after a quick 41 from 22 deliveries.

Yuvraj Singh in action

Twenty20 World Cup: Season 2

Amarnath Temple Photos

The Amarnath caves are one of the most famous shrines in Hinduism, dedicated to the god Shiva, located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The shrine is claimed to be over 5,000 years old and forms an important part of ancient Hindu mythology.

Inside the main Amarnath cave lies an ice stalagmite resembling the Shiva Linga, which waxes during May to August and gradually wanes thereafter. This lingam is said to grow and shrink with the phases of the moon, reaching its height during the summer festival. According to Hindu mythology, this is the cave where Shiva explained the secret of life and eternity to his divine consort Parvati. There are two other ice formations representing Parvati and Shiva's son, Ganesha.

The cave is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m (12,760 ft), about 141 km (88 mi) from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The Central Reserve Police Force, Indian Army and Indian Paramilitary Forces maintain a strong presence in the region due to concerns of security and hence prior permission is needed from the Government of India before making a pilgrimage.
